We have thoroughly enjoyed the vacations and the nice weather. However, the warm weather is often accompanied by nice barbecues, festivals, a glass of wine on the terrace or a delicious snack on the beach. All very tasty and fun of course but it does have its effect on your fitness and perhaps some vacation miles have been added to the scales. Time to get back to basics and pick up your normal diet and exercise routine.

You probably ate larger portions or multiple courses on vacation than you're normally used to. Then it is possible that you unconsciously eat more at home as a result. It is also advisable to choose whole grain products such as whole wheat pasta, rice and whole wheat or multigrain bread. These products are high in fiber and provide faster satiety. This will automatically make you eat less.

Take extra exercise

Getting enough exercise is essential when you want to get fit again after the vacations. Schedule an extra workout and choose to walk or bike more often when you need to go somewhere. A combination of healthy eating and exercise will help you get back to your old shape quickly.
